The Middle Ages Present "Cult Life", a Theatrical Music Experience
Ready to join the fun? The Middle Ages, Burlington, VT’s quirkiest comedic folk-hop duo, is opening the doors to their “cult” with the premiere of their latest music video, "Cult Life." This exclusive event will take place in the TREX Theater, at The Double E Performance Center on Friday, October 18th and promises an evening packed with comedy, music, and a short play detailing how "Cult Life" was born.
Attendees will be treated to a live performance designed to convert even the most skeptical into devoted followers. In addition to the music and the video screening, fans can enjoy a lively panel discussion with the band's "cult members" (a.k.a. the beloved community).
Leading this comedic movement are self-proclaimed cult leaders Taraleigh (Hot Tea) and Dan Weathers (MC Booty Call), the middle-aged duo who turned their own mid-life crises into something hotter than a pyromaniac at a campfire. Their mission? To make you laugh so hard, you'll forget you just joined their cult—or at least not care that you did.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Cult Life, filmed in Burlington and Colchester, VT, is a quirky passion project directed and scripted by the Weathers themselves, showcasing the bizarre and brilliant talents of their friends (we mean “cult members”). The video was filmed and edited by 15-year-old prodigy Liam Kolgen, proving that age is no barrier to the charm of The Middle Ages.
The track was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Tank Studios by Ben Collette (Phish, Moe., Dopapod) and produced by Scott Hannay of Mihali Band. It features Patrick McAndrew on harmonium, Josh Weinstein (Kat Wright) on stand-up bass, and Tim Sharbaugh on tablas—all of whom may or may not have joined the cult afterward.
The event will also feature an original short play performed by the band that humorously tells the story of how Cult Life came to be. “We’re turning our band into a movement, and this play shows just how far we’ve come—and how much we’ve lost our minds!” said Taraleigh Weathers, singer, songwriter, and self-appointed high priestess of fun.
Dan Weathers, aka MC Booty Call, added, "This video—and our play—proves that with a little creativity and a lot of crazy, you can turn a wild idea into something magical. Join us and let’s make cult life the most fun you’ve ever had!"
Don’t miss this unique event, packed with music, laughter, and the chance to be part of something hilariously offbeat. The Middle Ages’ premiere at The Double E is the initiation you didn’t know you needed!
Doors will open at 7 PM, where all are invited to enjoy a Cult Initiation cocktail before the show begins at 9 PM.
