The Grippo Funk Band got its start at Burlington VT’s Red Square in 1999 when alto saxophonist Dave Grippo gathered some of his favorite musicians together to jam on Monday nights. This humble beginning led to an unbroken string of Mondays at the Square that lasted nearly seven years. These legendary gigs served as a funk-style bootcamp where the GFB explored the deep cuts of James Brown, Maceo Parker, Sly Stone, and countless other R&B legends. Musicians touring with Dr. John, Soulive, Maceo, Beyonce Knowles, The Neville Brothers, and saxophonist Chris Potter would often make it a point to stop by and jam when in town on a Monday night. The GFB took it in, mixed it up, stirred the pot, and as months turned to years they developed their own ensemble sound and “heartbeat in unison” deadly locked-down grooves.

The GFB has also been exceptionally fortunate to benefit from the contributions of many outstanding performers through the years such as drummer Kenny “Sweet Sugar” Gulfield; MC’s Fatty B (of Belizbeha), Reko The Mighty Konflik, and Manus; singer/songwriter/trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick (of Trey Anastasio’s band and solo artist); trombonists James Harvey, Ben Smeltzer, and Andy Moroz (also from Trey’s band); guest guitarists Nick Cassarino and Benny “JFC that’s good chicken” Yurco (of Grace Potter and The Nocturnals); DJ’s A-Dog, Nastee, and Zach “ZJ” Johnson; and many more.

Trumpeter and vocalist, Jennifer Hartswick is one of the most exciting performers in music today. She exudes confidence and joy and brings her own refreshing spirit to the stage every time she performs. Jennifer’s music is honest, soulful and comes with a maturity far beyond her years.

Hartswick is an original member of the Trey Anastasio Band and has recorded/shared the stage with Herbie Hancock, Phish, Christian McBride, Tom Petty, Aaron Neville, Carlos Santana, The Rolling Stones, Big Gigantic, Dave Matthews and countless others.

Jennifer’s live performances are renowned as spontaneous, joyful and contagious. Her natural charisma and sincerity shines through, and each performance is a celebration of musical collaboration. And whether she is wailing on the trumpet or singing an intimate vocal solo, her performance is all part of a single seamless instrument, one that is played not only with astounding technical proficiency, but also with sensitivity, conviction and heart.

38 years after starting his full-fledged music career with The Samples, Sean Kelly continues to delight fans with music that transcends genres, age and shatters the rules of the established music industry. Throughout his career, Sean has been the driving influence of 20 albums and over 1 million records sold.

Sean started playing guitar at age 16 listening to Neil Young, Rolling Stones and Jackson Browne. Those influences mixed with his own poignant and timeless lyrics, a unique and striking voice and a mind for melodies led to songs like Little Silver Ring, Feel Us Shaking and Wild River. For many fans, these aren’t new songs or old songs, but anthems to their lives that represent the first time they met their wife or the joys of their times at college.

The Samples are more than a band – they represent a culture of fans and music that go beyond who happens to be playing in the band at any given time. There have been many members of The Samples, but Sean Kelly has been the consistent factor throughout all of the changes.

Sean’s journeys across America have taken place in rental cars, tour buses and pickup trucks that would have literally taken him to the moon and back over the last quarter of a century. There is a lot of music in store in 2025 and beyond from Sean Kelly and The Samples.

Keller's Description: "Loose interpretations of Grateful Dead songs done in a bluegrass style. Take my fascination with Grateful Dead songs and mix it together with my love of psychedelic improvisational bluegrass music and out burps this project.

If you like your Grateful Dead songs performed in their original way, or if you prefer traditional bluegrass, this is not the project for you. If you like singing along to Dead songs in that song’s normal tempo but dancing double time to the music, this is definitely your jam. A lot of people seem to dig it and I dig them for that.”

Keller’s Grateful Grass delivers anything-but-traditional bluegrass versions of Grateful Dead favorites. Grateful Grass often times has a rotating lineup and so far, has included collaborations with The Keels, Keith Moseley (SCI), Jeff Austin (Yonder Mountain String Band), Michael Kang (SCI), Reed Mathis, Bill Nershi (SCI), Allie Kral, Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon), Sam Grisman, Love Canon, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Hillbenders and more!

In 2008, the original Grateful Grass members (Keller, Jeff Austin and Keith Moseley) recorded a live performance at The Fillmore in Denver, CO. 100% of the proceeds from REX (Live at the Fillmore) went to benefit The Rex Foundation, the charitable non-profit started by the Grateful Dead.

In 2010 Grateful Grass took the stage at Delfest for the first live appearance since 2008. In 2013, Grateful Grass ft. Keller, Jeff Austin, Keith Moseley and Michael Kang reunited to benefit the Rex Foundation once again at The Fillmore in San Francisco for the event, Nightfall of Diamonds. Once again this performance was recorded and DOS was released in 2014. All proceeds continue to benefit the Rex Foundation.

G. Love & Special Sauce is an American Hip-Hop Blues band known for its unique fusion of hip-hop, blues, funk, and soul. Formed in 1993 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the band originally featured Garrett Dutton, aka G. Love, as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Jeffrey Clemens on drums, and Jim Prescott on bass. The trio quickly gained attention for their laid-back, groovy style and G. Love’s unique vocal delivery, blending rap-like spoken word with bluesy singing.

Their debut self-titled album, G. Love & Special Sauce, was released in 1994 on Epic Records and included the hit single “Cold Beverage,” which became popular on alternative radio stations and MTV, solidifying their presence in the music scene. The band’s style has been described as a mix of “slacker blues” and “alternative hip-hop,” as they frequently incorporate elements of 90s hip-hop beats with classic blues rhythms.

Over the years, G. Love & Special Sauce has released numerous albums, including Coast to Coast Motel (1995), Yeah, It’s That Easy (1997), The Electric Mile (2001) and the GRAMMY nominated The Juice (2020). Their sound evolved to include more soul, R&B, and rock influences, though they retained their laid-back vibe and clever lyrical play. Their 2014 album Sugar saw a reunion of the original lineup after several years, and they continued to tour and produce music with a loyal fan base.

Known for their energetic live performances, G. Love & Special Sauce has played at festivals like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. Garrett Dutton also frequently collaborates with other artists, including Jack Johnson, with whom he shares a similar vibe, and has released solo projects that dive deeper into his blues influences. G. Love & Special Sauce remains a beloved name in the music scene, blending genres in a way that feels fresh and authentic.

EXPERIENCE THE VIVID, ELECTRIFYING SOUND OF LED ZEPPELIN THROUGH THE PERFORMANCE OF NEW YORK CITY SESSION MUSICIANS.

REIGNITING THE POWER OF THE ROCK GODS,

FOUR STICKS BRINGS IT. ALWAYS.

There is no rock and roll enthusiast who has not been touched in some way by the epic catalogue of the mighty Led Zeppelin. From the initial crushing chords of "Good Times, Bad Times" on Led Zeppelin I (1969) to the slick, piano heavy "Fool In The Rain" (1980) that featured one of John Bonham's most iconic drum grooves. If you are looking for a Led Zeppelin act that brings the energy and spirit of Led Zeppelin in their prime, then look no further than FOUR STICKS, the most accurate tribute to the iconic Led Zeppelin.

Led Zeppelin, led by guitar virtuoso, Jimmy Page and vocal icon, Robert Plant, never failed to push their songwriting to the limit of astounding creativity, with live performances that were second to none, with each member putting on a clinic and delivering their songs with fresh energy at each and every performance. The songs maintained their album quality while simultaneously being given new life and energy by the live improvisation abilities or these four powerhouses. FOUR STICKS is comprised of NYC session and touring musicians who have graced the stages with some of the biggest names in the business, as well as being on numerous smash hits with musicians in multiple genres.

FOUR STICKS plays through all the hits that a casual fan would want to hear, as well as delivering some of the best gems for the Led Zep enthusiast that other Zep acts don't touch. And FOUR STICKS do it the way Led Zeppelin did it, which is utilizing only four members playing multiple instruments. New and old fans that have seen many of the Zep tributes claim FOUR STICKS comes the closest to a live Led Zeppelin show. The vocal range and power of Robert Plant? Got that. The power and finesse of John Bonham? Got that. The virtuosity of Jimmy Page? Got that. A multi-instrumentalist on bass/vox/keys/mandolin? Got that too.

Join us outside at The Old Stage as St. Alban's based NIGHTRAIN brings the party to Essex!

Formed in 2005, Nightrain has been delivering high-energy rock ‘n’ roll for two decades. Known for their faithful recreations of the classics, the band has built a reputation for bringing audiences the music they love, just the way they remember it.

Spanning every decade since the 1960s, Nightrain’s setlist is a journey through the golden eras of rock, with each song performed with precision, passion, and respect for the original. Whether it’s timeless anthems or deep-cut favorites, the band captures the spirit and sound that defined generations.

What makes Nightrain unique is the chemistry at its core—four high school friends who’ve been playing music together for 20 years. That bond translates on stage, where their tight musicianship and natural camaraderie create a live experience that’s as fun for the band as it is for the audience.

Their rare blend of lush three-part harmonies, folk-pop warmth, and easygoing humor creates a live experience that feels both timeless and refreshingly current.

The trio — Rich Price, Greg Naughton, and Brian Chartrand — are each accomplished singer-songwriters, with credits spanning solo albums, international tours, film, and television. Their award-winning feature film The Independents,

inspired by the band’s journey, was praised by The Hollywood Reporter and LA Times and is now streaming on Amazon

Prime, Tubi, and more.

Returning to the road with Embers, their fifth studio album produced by Grammy-winner Andy Zulla, The Sweet Remains

showcase the luminous songwriting and signature harmonies that have earned them more than 65 million Spotify streams and a devoted worldwide following. Featuring standout tracks like When The World Slowed Down, Don’t Count Me Out, and the introspective title track Ember, the album affirms their place as one of today’s most engaging folk-rock acts.

Weird Phishes is exactly what it sounds like - the iconic melancholy rock songs of Radiohead completely reborn as danceable, crunchy jams. With full-album performances, unexpected mashups, and gluey funk-driven improvisation, their jam-heavy take on alt-rock classics has sparked an unexpected energy in audiences across the northeast. Cleverly avoiding the "tribute" trope, Weird Phishes continues to push the envelope of what a mashup band can be, delivering performances that need to be experienced in order to believe.

A quick glance at the band’s social media gives a glimpse into why this unlikely mashup proves worthwhile. “Bought tickets on a whim because I love both bands, had wanted to check out the club, and thought it would be amusing. I was not expecting such incredible musicianship and thought that had gone into their set...it was one of the best shows I’ve seen in years.” Said one user. “Clean, creative mashups of a favorite album and great Phish selections. Great energy.” says another. “Impossibly excellent show.”

In July 2019, Weird Phishes solidified their place in the New England jam community, playing back-to-back afterparties after Phish’s performances at Fenway Park. With a growing fanbase and an ever-changing setlist, the band continued their breakout year with a fall run to the midwest. In a weird bout of poetic justice, Weird Phishes was the last band to play at northeast jam-staple venue Nectar's before the coronavirus pandemic of 2020.

When live music came back in 2021, Weird Phishes returned with a force. The band made its triumphant return with a headlining performance at the inaugural Safe and Soundz festival, and took a victory lap with appearances across the northeast at Circus of Life Festival and a sold-out performance to christen Boston's newest venue, Aeronaut Cannery.

Rescheduled from May 30th

Join us on Friday, September 25th for the final show of our Summer Series as Troy Millette & The Fire Below play all your favorite 90's Country tunes from Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Garth Brooks and more!

Vermont’s TROY MILLETTE & THE FIRE BELOW are equal parts thoughtful and lively– a cocktail of rock, pop, folk, and americana music that grapples with love, loss, and the human experience.

Millette’s emotive and relatable lyrics, as well as his energetic, banter-filled live performances have made him a staple of dives, clubs, theaters, and festivals across the northeast United States and Quebec. His work as a frontman and solo performer garnered the title of Vermont’s “Best Folk Group” from Seven Days Magazine in 2022 and 2023 (some guy named Noah Kahan beat them in 2024. No big deal).
