Disinfecting: Sanitation chemicals proven to kill 99.9% of all germs and viruses will be used in guest rooms prior to guest arrival.
8-Point High-Touch Cleaning: A checklist of frequently touched areas in each guest room will be maintained, to ensure that they receive extra disinfection.
The Essex Resort & Spa is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking of any kind, including the use of tobacco products, cannabis, and vaping devices, is prohibited in all guestrooms, hallways, stairwells, and public spaces. A $300 room recovery fee will be charged to the registered guest if smoking occurs in a guestroom.
Taxes: 9% Occupancy Tax, $1.50 VTDMF per day is added to all reservations
Resort Fee: $29 per night per room is additional to the room rate.

The Essex Resort & Spa is proud to welcome dogs in designated guest rooms as part of our commitment to providing the highest level of service to all guests. A $150 non-refundable cleaning fee per stay will be added to your reservation at check-in. All dogs will receive a welcome bag with a dog bowl, toy, and waste bags, and a dog bed is available upon request.
To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for everyone, we ask that all pet owners follow the guidelines outlined below:
Dogs must not exceed 75 pounds, and only one dog is permitted per guest room.
Dogs must be on a leash or in a kennel at all times and may not be left unattended.
In accordance with Health Department regulations, dogs are not allowed in dining outlets, pool areas, the Spa, or the Fitness Center. Dogs are welcome on the patio of The Lazy Goat Tavern, with access through the gardens.
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs at all times.
To ensure a pleasant experience for all guests, we ask that dogs remain calm and quiet. A $100 disturbance fee will be charged for each noise complaint. If a second complaint is received, the guest will need to make arrangements for the dog to stay at an offsite boarding facility for the remainder of the visit. Please understand that the pet fee is non-refundable and will not be reimbursed if offsite arrangements are made.
Housekeeping service must be scheduled through the Front Desk and may only occur when the dog is not in the room.
The resort, its parent company, agents, and team are not responsible for any liability related to your dog, including property damage, injuries, or other incidents.
Pet-Friendly Guest Rooms: A limited number of pet-friendly rooms are available on the property. These rooms are thoroughly cleaned and treated to minimize potential allergens. Rooms are subject to availability.
